I understand what you mean; how many christians seem to lack the understanding that a spiritual world exists. While the thought sounds contradictory, it actually seems to be the case. Many go about their lives as though “this is it” as they become entangled with the affairs of this world. It’s heartbreaking to know how much they are missing out on. That closeness with the Lord; that sweet fellowship and peace that defies explanation.

But God used that to cause me to fall in love with a woman who eventually realized that she was a Christian and could not marry a pagan. This caused me to ask God for a sign if Jesus was His Son and the only way to be with Him in heaven. I got that sign. Once I came to Christ, the only thing I knew about Christianity was that the Bible was supposed to be the manual for life, and prayer was talking to God. I had had experience expecting the supernatural, unlike many christians. I had had experience talking to spiritual things, so why would I not want to talk to the creator of everything, even though He is spirit? I turned to the Bible for answers of what God said was acceptable. Then after I argued with God about it (grin) I gave in and did what God wanted me to do. This seems to be missing from most who grow up in the church – the realization that the spiritual world exists, the seeking of God’s will and the surrender of self to God.

Perfect! That is, a perfect example of the ancient kind of narrow mindedness that has plagued man kind in every way imaginable. When calamity arises, it is this brand of thought that drives humanity towards even more terrible destruction.

This was a great post and yes, I too have had those same thoughts (not a vision) but just the thought that we are in a war and comrades fall on every side (or those who are falling away). We definitely are living in a time of great deception or the beginning of, which makes me think the church needs to get back to one-on-one discipleship. Making sure that those who come to Christ at least have a firm foundation because I believe that many don’t and if they don’t how easily they can then be swayed by false teachings. I’ve been watching an interesting documentary over at the8thperson.wordpress.com called “The Alter Call.” It’s in four parts but is definitely worth watching. Reelation 9:20 has always been astonishing as it reveals the love that men have for their sin; so much so that, even during intense judgment, they refuse to repent. Revelation 16
17The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed.

Every city will collapse….. literally.

When this happens God’s people will have already been exiled to rural area’s where they are forced to build temporary shelters to live in. In biblical terms these shelters are called booths.

This earthquake is also mentioned in Ezekiel Ch 38

11 You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land.”

Notice that God’s people are living without walls.

This is significant because later in the chapter it says what will happen to all the walls:

Ezekeil 38
19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.

Every wall will fall to the ground during this earthquake.

If you read into the next chapter of Ezekeil then willo will learn that birds are invited to a meal because there will be a great deal of dead bodies.

Revelation Chapter 19 also speaks to this same invitation of birds to a great feast on the dead bodies.

The exile is also mentioned in Ezekeil Chapter 39.

Although the people going into exile will probably not realize at the time that it is a blessing as the ones left behind will suffer the earthquake inside the cities which will fall down.

The people left behind are the ones who will suffer.

I recommed that you read these in detail.

Then you will understand what Jesus Christ meant when he said;

Luke 17:37
37″Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”

Perhaps you will be convinced that a massive earthquake is the event which will make money worthless after considering what Jesus later said in Luke Ch 21

Luke 21:34
that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.

If a Jew reads this they will now also understand why the celebrate the festival of booths evey year.
